Music Is A Bridge From You to You - Lyndol Descant

I just so easy to give up on yourself, to stop sharing or even listening to your own authentic voice.

I'm Lyndol Descant and as long as I can remember I was too shy to speak up for myself. I shrank away from attention like shadow from light. And worst of all – compliments.

I don't know why I was like that. Maybe it was my childhood circumstances, maybe I was born that way.

What I do know is that I would have remained that way for a lifetime had it not been for music.

Music is unlike anything else in our known world. Music is vibration. Music is Rhythm. Music is emotion. Music is communication. Music is Mathematics and mathematics is said to be the language of our universe. And when you study music enough, you realize music is magic. And that in our modern world we grossly underestimate it's power.

Live Performance from Dosey Doe's Open Mic Finals - The Value of Open Mics for Songwriters and Musicians

It's been years and years since I did an open mic. I was always too busy with tons of my own gigs. Plus most open mics don't have a piano - so it's a lot of work to bring my keyboard, set up for a couple of songs.

So why did I start going again? Because going to open mic's is so good for your music practice in so many ways! My first year in New York, I lived 5 minutes from a fantastic open mic! I went from 7pm to 4am and was booked up everywhere. The level of musicians was incredible. On top of that - they had a piano on stage! I went every Tuesday for a year. The benefits of that year I still feel to this day. Here’s a few reasons to spend some time at an open mic…

Why Do We Fall - Video and Single Release by Lyndol Descant, Produced by Colin Hua

Why Do We Fall is a jazzy tune about Narcissist/Empath relationship patterns. It was a rabbit hole I went down at the time whilst having a crush on a guy who was in a toxic relationship with a girl who was treating him like dirt.

You can check it out here in video form, or buy the single for $1.

Sparkling Review of Let It All Krumble by Samantha Simmonds-Ronceros

"Lyndol spins a beautiful story with this bouncy, whimsical song. Jazzy, funky, inspiring, all of the lightness and magic we all need so badly right now.

The video is lovely too, a sweet and simple, indie representation of the themes of the song. Artists struggling to make ends meet, while the act to create persists. Shot on location in Brooklyn, we see the hero, actor/wrestler/comedian Lawson Leong, as he paces the streets on a mission to rid himself, quite literally, of what represents his own personal artistry, only to have it returned to him.

Going Back to Analogue - New Music and Video by Lyndol Descant

Going Back to Analogue is a original instrumental set to my recent phone videos. I wanted to communicate the idea of a return to a simpler, cleaner lifestyle, closer to nature, as God intended. How this will look? That's what I'm interested in igniting hearts and imaginations towards...

Let It All Krumble - Music Video and Upcoming Single

I wrote this song 8 years ago; my first year in Brooklyn. I was hustling hard, renting a room and barely making rent. I was surrounded by all the grossness of NYC that you have to experience on a daily basis; from pollution to rotting garbage to poverty to dilapidated living spaces that cost more than a whole house back home. But despite what surrounded me, I felt more alive than ever. I was songwriting like crazy, performing weekly and teaching music to children from all walks of life. I was so just so thankful for the experience. I really did feel a whole new level of joy and peace on the inside.
