It's been years and years since I did an open mic. I was always too busy with tons of my own gigs. Plus most open mics don't have a piano - so it's a lot of work to bring my keyboard, set up for a couple of songs.

So why did I start going again? Because going to open mic's is so good for your music practice in so many ways! My first year in New York, I lived 5 minutes from a fantastic open mic! Recital Season and What's to Come.... 2021

I'm so thankful for being part of 100 + years of music making and music education in the dear, dear building in Park Slope.

But I now start the part of the story that comes after you realize your dreams. No one talks about that. What happens after you get exactly what you want, and life just keeps going. It doesn't end like it does in the movies...

Magenta Pixie Round Table - 5D Symphony and Sound Heartsong Activation with Lyndol Descant and Nina Starsong

In 2018, I composed a song called Fairy Jam and shared it with one of my favorite Youtuber’s Magenta Pixie. Her videos had been inspiring me for a while and continue to this day; bringing me insight and upliftement even in the middle of this unprecedented turmoil.

She ended up using the track multiple times, including a recent Solstice video that fulfilled my purpose for my music on a whole new level… to uplift and inspire others to unlock their creative genius.
