Why Music As a Metaphor? Because Music is Everything and Everywhere: Getting to the Heart of our Reality

I talk a lot about the frequency war, protecting your frequency, raising the vibes. In my content, I mention, often, how Music is way more powerful than we understand in this era. And how it's been weaponized against us long before digitization or retuning to 440Hz by the Nazis.

Part of my mission in life is to inspire others to reclaim music in the name of the highest frequencies of love and authenticity. (Check out the chart for a list of emotional frequencies)

I've even named this rag tag group I'm assembling as David's Army Band since the bible documents well the young King David's use of music to calm and soothe. And many of his Psalms are continuing to empower readers to this very day, thousands of years later.

But what prompted me to write today is a recent trip to the Moxi Museum in Santa Barbara. It was just a child's exhbit , but I saw how much our eyes miss the vibration of guitar strings when plucked. I'm so often speaking with students about sound waves and frequency that I shared the video on my social.

But it made me aware that perhaps I need to lay out foundationally why Music is a Metaphor to me for ALL of life.

So I want to get into the very nature of sound waves, frequency and pitch to make sure I'm bringing everyone along for the ride.

Let's start with basic review here of some terms both to remind myself and to lay a foundation for others who might be new to the concepts.

Music is Vibration.

Vibration is the physical action of moving rapidy and repeatedly.

Frequency is the rate at which this vibration happens.

Pitch refers to the perceptual quality of how high or low a sound is and this quality is directly related to the frequency of the sound wave.

So the faster the vibration, the higher the pitch. The slower the vibration, the lower the pitch.

All of this was more obvious when we had to use real strings, pianos, horns and instruments to get this vibration going. But since so many things are digitized these days, it's not so obvious that when we listen to music, we are interacting with sound waves.

So Music is vibration, no question about it. But why do I say that Vibration is everything? Well this goes back to Quantum Physics and/or Metaphysics that has basically proven that this whole world, at it's core, is pure vibration.

Vibration refers to the oscillory motion of particles or the propagation of energy waves. It encompasses both the physical movement of atoms and molecules, as well as the energetic frequencies associated with thoughts, emotions, and even broader environment. Everything in the universe, including living beings, possesses a unique vibrational frequency or energy pattern.” - AI Mode

In my 20's, I was researching deep into the place where quantum physics and metaphysics overlap. String theory in particular I found expresses the idea that at it's core, the universe is vibration:

‘String theory is a theoretical framework in physics that proposes that the fundamental constituents of the universe are one-dimensional "strings" rather than point-like particles. These strings, which are incredibly small, can vibrate in different ways, and each vibrational pattern corresponds to a different fundamental particle, like an electron or a quark. The theory aims to unify all four fundamental forces of nature—gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces—into a single, all-encompassing "Theory of Everything" Google AI

String theory echos the bible when John writes:

John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Words have vibrations. And God seemed to set creation in motion thru vibration/sound. Much the way particles are determined through vibration. Then those molecules are assembled according to laws. The phyiscal universe around us was built from the ground up using sound.

I dont' want to get too deep here on this, but will add a few references down below if you want to deep dive.

I'll also qualify that I was reading what was cutting edge 15 years ago, and haven't been reserachign as much recently. I think String Theory has been rebuked but I'm staying out of that debate. It's more important that I convey my framework of undestanding so you can determine if you resontate with it or not.

You see, I'm such a fan of Fractyls and the concept of micro to macro – that it's all the same. Part of this comes from studying higher dimensions and actively trying to imagine the 4th dimension like the Cubist Painters of the last century

Many say that in the 4th dimension, you see all angles at once. Like you see inside and out at the same time, the way a face in a Picasso painting looks. The exterior is a mirror of the interior.

And scale is different – Macro to Micro is one. When you study fractyls, this strange logic becomes clear. Whether you zoom way in or out – it's the same. The macro is made up of the micro.

Same with the universe. When you zoom in it's tiny vibrating strings. Their rate determines the shape and properties of a molecule which create a bigger molecule. Then a bigger and bigger form til we have planets / suns / complex beings who are all interacting with electromagnetic waves of light and sound.

The more you delve into ancient text or scientific discoveries of the last century – it's all coming to the same conclusions. It's all restating the same universal laws such as:

Law of Divine Oneness: Everything in the universe is connected and part of a unified whole (We are one)

Law of Vibration: Everything is constantly moving and vibrating, emitting a specific frequency (Everything is vibration)

Law of Correspondence: The principal that 'as above so below' or 'as within so without' (Fractyls)

When I picked up my instrument and started singing/playing piano and songwriting, I was in my early 20's. I knew I didn't want a career in music. I knew it was too late for that, and it wasn't appealing to me at all.

But I couldn't help but be drawn into exploring music because it felt like I was getting to the heart of the matter. Like exploring music, mastering music was exploring and mastering reality itself.

Music as a metaphor is the law of Correspondence.

If we are all frequency at our core and connected through this universal Law of Vibration – then creating music becomes the most direct way to step into the role of Co-Creator. At least that's how I saw it.

You see I was, like many, broken, depressed and washed up even at the ripe young age at 22. Lost doesn't even describe it and I dreaded the long life ahead of me. I was so filled with trauma and betrayal, that it didn't matter how much I tried to think positive – my vibration was hopelessly low. And as I've written about before, that low frequency becomes a vortex with momentum to attract more low frequency people and events so that you stay stuck in those low densities. It feels safe because it's familiar. Because it's all you've known. But there is an even greater danger of slowly but surely being cooked like a bull frog; descending lower and lower as the years past but in such a way that you hardly notice. I had already hit rock bottom at that ripe young age and I didn't want to mess around anymore. I knew something drastic had to be done and I was the only one to do it.

Music was the weapon I needed to pull me up out of that vortex.

Practicing in my room each night, alone. The raw exposure to tone and pitch became a life line pulling my frequency upwards.

Even if all my songs were sad and depressing at first, authentically expressing my emotions gave me a boost for several reasons:

  1. Facing my dark emotions and trauma through songwriting helped me to release lower frequency patterns of pain/ hurt / confusion in the alchemical process of turning something dark into something meaningful and beautiful. It didn't matter that it was only for me. It raised my frequency regardless of anyone else ever hearing the song. In fact, I was empowered because it didn't depend on anyone but me showing up night after night to my keyboard.

  2. Being exposed to the tones, especially in raw improvisation, was healing on a primal level. I believe I was guided to give myself sound therapy that was perfectly suited for me, my emotions, my traumas. Night after night, the music itself was soothed and entrained my body to different vibrations. My mind and soul were present. And the voices of the world were drowned out. The music was even creating a higher vibration environment to live in; one that was a guard against lower frequencies that infiltrated my mind and space from the world at large. As well as other lost/damaged people living in the apartment complex or at my job.

  3. I was learning to trust again. Whether it was God, my intuition or just my own muscle memory, playing music is so much about developing trust muscles. I learned and got familiar with the flow state. The more I tapped into it, the more I wanted to be there. But the daily repetition practices over years is what replaced the lower vibrational habitual state of fear and hestitation that I had lived in for my whole life. It was very much 2 steps forward, 1.5 back at times, but the slow and steady climb ensured a permanent change.

  4. It connected the dots with the power of our thoughts. Words themselves have vibration and frequency as proven by Dr. Emoto's water crystals. So I combined words with music to sing benedictions over myself and this world. Once again, didn't matter that no one heard the songs. Since we are all connected, what work we do to raise our frequency contributes to the collective whole's frequency.

  5. I gained control over my own life again. By taking the reigns metaphorically in my music practice, I slowly gained the confidence to take the reigns of my thoughts, habits, patterns, relationships. No one else could do it for me. I had to chose to return night after night to a practice that no one in my life at the time supported (except maybe my mom) I stepped into my authority as I decided what I wanted for my life was more important that what others thought of me, or wanted for me. That authority has made ALL the difference in my life! I've been able to side step SO many traps set for people these days; especially by Energy Vampires who seem to be desperate.

  6. I became more senstive and aware of my frequency as well as the frequencies around me. The byproduct was the abilty to discern between myself and others. This is a superpower for empaths and one that happened naturally as a result of playing music. This then enabled me to learn the valuable skill of setting boundaries.

  7. My voice grew stronger from singing and composing. It spilled out into my life and I learned not only to speak up for myself, but also to discern when to not share my voice/thoughts/opinions. It's my right to speak or not speak when I choose.

  8. I grew my co-creative abilities and grew confidence in them which is getting the very heart of co-creating my life.

There are more reasons, but I'll stop there for now.

It's been 25 years since I picked up music as an adult. It was truly the best decision I ever made. I don't fully identify as a musician because you can see I didn't learn music just to play music. It was always more than that to me. It was about survival. It was a metaphor for life itself.

At the heart of my experience in this life, is the very real matter of an assault on my frequency since the day I was born it seems. Gas lit over and over about reality is, it doesn't change what is true. Though silent, this war is ancient and insidious. Perhaps that needs to be the subject of different blog as I've already kept you for a while, and appreciate you reading this.

So I'll end with this Universal Law that most people know in this day and age – in large part due to the Documentary the Secret as well as many teachers such as Wayne Dyer and Zig Ziglar:

The Law of Attraction: Like attracts like; positive and negative thought or feelings draw similar experiences into your life.

Most of us were born into a broken family, all of us into a broken world. Low frequencies and trauma get established as the norm when our brains are still forming. And many of us never question those assumptions for the rest of our lives. We then continue to attract people/situations/events that match this lower frequency. These are the patterns that keep us stuck.

This is the invisible bars of our prison.

I'm here to declare that Music has the power to break us out of this cycle. For ourselves first, then through entrainment – a larger circle goes out – like ripples in the pond.

It’s not magic or super powers reserved for the rich and famous - it’s just simple entrainment using universal laws. Anyone of us can use this tool at any time. Music is a basic right and a super power at the same time. And those who are humble at heart are being called to it at this time...

This is the essence of David's Army Band.

And since music is as a metaphor, you don't have to play an instrument to be in this band. You just have to be willing to join the fright to raise the vibes, both personally and collectively.

PS – one last definition in case you don't know what entrainment means...

Entrainment is a phenomenon where two or more rhythmic processes synchronize their oscillations, leading to a shared period or common rhythm. This can be observed in various systems, including physical systems like pendulums, biological systems like cellular rhythms, and human interactions, where it can synchronize behaviors, physiological responses like heart rate, and even brainwaves. - Google AI
